For awhile now, the LostCavers on the forums have been debating fiercely about the upcoming sequel, and if you've missed the hoo-har so far, the summary is that the sequel is going to be a straight-to-DVD release about surfing vampires - this bothers us for a number of reasons, the most painful is that vampires in The Lost Boys world cannot touch running water, and now they're going to be hanging 10?

Basically, the fandom is enraged that Warner Brothers are making a sequel with little or no regard for the original - and the fans. The sequel will be a straight to DVD release, meaning that they want us to buy this, and we are somewhat annoyed that they expect us to buy a movie that essentially is a mockery of the original that we love so much. I'm probably phrasing this badly, so what you really should do is have a look at our lovely Cat Lady express our views eloquently over at YouTube.
Should this get you suitably riled up - and I hope it does, because, yes, it is nice that they're finally making a sequel, but no, it's not nice that they don't really respect us or the original movie - then I suggest you do as much as you can for the cause.

1) Why is the vid so dark? are you a vampire?
2) I suggest you put a .mpg version for download at better bit rate (say 1500kbps) than the youtube so that it is much better quality and everybody can have the vid locally on their computers.

They can't touch Holy Water that has been blessed normal water is fine. When, they killed the twisted sister looking vampire the tub was filled with holywater. Why in the heck would that not be able to touch running water.

i love the lost boys and by the look of loast boys 2 im going to love that 1 to so what there making a 2nd film it will never be as good as the 1st film so let them do it as long as they dont try and remake that lost boys i dont care you guy who are kicking of about the 2nd film really need to get out more at the end of the day its a new film about vamps and thats cool it will never be as good as LOST BOYS.....

The writers of this 'sequel' should have researched everything properly. I'm sure if they had of actually looked at the fanfiction on this site, they might have found a way to resurrect David, Marco, Dwayne and Paul, instead of who they reckon they can get doin this new movie.
To be honest, they should have got off their fat backsides and produced a sequel straight away so that the gorgeous Alex Winter might have been in the new one.

Having been a massive fan of the original, and trying not to compare the two films, even as a stand alone vampire fil The Lost Boys The Tribe SUCKS!!! Got to be the worst vampire film I have ever had the misfortune of watching. the alternative endings on the DVD also leave a lot to be desired..avoid like the plague!!!

David How, I suggest you grab yourself a copy of the novel based on the film. They cannot go in or be touched by running water, as Sarah has stated. When Michael attempts to take a shower after drinking from the bottle, it burns him, both hot and cold water.

Was on a DVD night...and told we'd watch Lost Boys..was soooo happy...I luv that movie...
Told me I didn't have to brin it..they had it...only that they had the sequel and god...don't wanna step on anyones toes...could be there are people who like it..but it sucked..I mean...there is this scene were the bothersome lady vampire goes showering...hellohoo..
Actually..if the rumour about another different sequel with David in it...they should have done it..
