I have always seen Star as a connector between the boys and Michael. Star was the only reason Michael even was introduced or noticed by the boys. When it came down to him drinking the blood and becoming half-vampire, he still only went to Star about his problems and I don't know why. I would go to the direct source (no matter how unsure/scared I may feel) - to David and the other boys. Why would he go to Star? I never understood that part, their love connection was brittle and the weakest part of the film.

They could have made Star a stronger character but personally, I don't watch the movie to see Star, I'm far more interested in the vampire aspect so it's fine with me if they keep her as unimportant as she turns out to be.

You know, I saw an original script somewhere---not sure where---where it showed Star vamping out and walking through fire, which I think would've been cool. But then they decided to have her as is. Not that I'm complaining. I like Jami Gertz, but I agree with Snarky: you have an actress, give her something to work with.

^That actually sounds really cool. Aww, I would've liked to see Star walk through fire. That would've been pretty awesome. Especially if it was a well-written/thought-out scene (to avoid the cheese-factor... though, come to think of it, the film had it's cheesy moments, but that was more or less saved for the Frogs 'n Sam).
